**KPK Governor’s Rule Imposed | Sohail Afridi Reportedly Arrested | PTI Long March Latest Update**

A major political development has unfolded in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa as the federal government announces the imposition of emergency and Governor’s Rule in the province following approval by President Asif Ali Zardari. The decision has triggered a fresh political confrontation between the federal government and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), with all eyes now on Peshawar and the future of the ongoing PTI long march.

According to the report published by Dawn, the decision was approved under Articles 232 and 234 of Pakistan’s Constitution following a federal cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. The development has raised important questions about provincial autonomy, constitutional powers and the future of the PTI-led provincial administration.

**Sohail Afridi and Junaid Akbar Reportedly Arrested**

KP Chief Minister Muhammad Sohail Afridi and senior PTI leader Junaid Akbar were reportedly taken into custody, according to claims made by PTI officials. At the time of the report, the federal government had not officially commented on the reported arrests. The claims and any subsequent official confirmation remain important developments to follow.

**PTI Reacts to Governor’s Rule**

PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan has condemned the decision, describing it as undemocratic and raising concerns about provincial autonomy. The move has intensified the political disagreement between PTI and the federal government, while KP Governor Faisal Karim Kundi has called for unity and a new chapter in the province’s development.
