Following the beheading of two Bangladeshis in Saudi Arabia, Bangladesh has summoned the Saudi Ambassador, Dr. Abdullah Jaffer H. Bin Abiyah, to seek an explanation regarding the incident. The Ambassador was unable to provide any initial information on the matter. Furthermore, the government has no information concerning the whereabouts of the bodies, nor when or how they might be repatriated. It is understood that while Saudi Arabia had informed Bangladesh about the arrest of the two individuals—who were subsequently handed the ultimate penalty—they provided no details regarding the judicial proceedings.
