Netanyahu's future as Israel's prime minister still unclear after finalized election results Nov 02, 2026

Description

Final election results confirmed the makeup of Israel's next parliament, but it remains an open question whether Benjamin Netanyahu will stay on as prime minister. Party leaders must now hold high-stakes negotiations to assemble a governing coalition of at least 61 seats in the 120-member Knesset. Because neither Netanyahu's right-wing faction nor the camp of his main challenger, former military chief Gadi Eisenkot, secured an outright majority, Arab-led parties could play a decisive role after winning a historic 19 seats. Professor Alon Burstein joins LiveNOW's Austin Westfall to discuss what this means for Netanyahu's future as prime minister.
