O'Kenneth

About

O’Kenneth stands as a pioneering figure in Ghana’s Asakaa (drill) movement, recognized for his commanding voice, raw lyricism, and introspective storytelling. Emerging from Kumasi’s underground in 2016, he gained international recognition in 2020 through standout contributions to the viral anthems Ma Drip and Akatafoc, which helped position Ghanaian drill on the global stage. Later that year, he collaborated with Reggie on Straight Outta Kumerica, a project that defined the new wave of Kumerican rap. His 2021 solo debut, Until It’s All Said and Done, offered a profound exploration of struggle, loyalty, and survival, while Straight Outta Kumerica 2 (2022) revealed his artistic growth and sonic versatility. At the forefront of a movement and a generation, O’Kenneth continues to shape the sound and vision of African rap, blending street authenticity with emotional depth while remaining firmly rooted in Kumasi’s cultural identity.
