Last updated: October 2, 2026

Summary

  • No account or sign-in is needed. We never ask for your Google or YouTube login.
  • TrendUniverse uses YouTube API Services to show public trending videos.
  • We do not show third-party ads, use the Google Advertising ID, or sell your data.
  • Crash reports and basic usage events go to Google Firebase only after you agree, and you can turn them off at any time.

1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how TrendUniverse ("we", "us", or "our") handles information when you use the TrendUniverse mobile application (the "App").

By downloading, accessing, or using the App, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

Before the App loads any YouTube API data, you are asked to review and accept this Privacy Policy and YouTube's Terms of Service.

2. Who We Are

TrendUniverse is developed and operated by Geek Web Solution, the team behind yttrendz.com. For any privacy question, contact us at [email protected].

3. About the App

TrendUniverse is an independent discovery app. It shows publicly available trending video metadata (titles, thumbnails, channel names, and public statistics such as views, likes, and comment counts) by country and category, retrieved through YouTube API Services. You can watch videos in the official YouTube player inside the App.

TrendUniverse is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by YouTube, Google LLC, or Alphabet Inc.

4. Use of YouTube API Services

TrendUniverse uses YouTube API Services to retrieve and display public video and channel information, and to play videos through the official YouTube IFrame player. By using the App, you agree to be bound by YouTube's Terms of Service, and you acknowledge Google's Privacy Policy.

The App only requests public data. It does not ask you to sign in with Google or YouTube, and it does not access your YouTube account, watch history, subscriptions, playlists, or any other private account data.

When the YouTube player loads or a video plays, Google/YouTube may collect technical data (for example device, cookie, and playback information) under Google's Privacy Policy. Playback starts only after you tap play. We do not add our own tracking pixels, advertising ID, or analytics to the player.

5. Information We Collect

5.1 Information stored on your device

5.2 Information our servers process

To return trending data, our servers receive basic technical request details: your selected country and category, any search text you enter, the App version, and your IP address (which is part of every internet request). We use these only to answer the request, prevent abuse, and keep the service secure. We do not build a profile of you from them.

5.3 Crash reports and usage events (only with your consent)

If you agree, the App sends the following to Google Firebase (Firebase Crashlytics and Google Analytics for Firebase):

We do not send the videos you open, your searches, or an advertising ID to Firebase. If you decline, none of this is sent.

5.4 Information you send us

If you email support, we receive your email address and whatever you include in your message. We use it only to reply to you.

6. Information We Do Not Collect

7. Device Storage and Permissions

The App stores and reads information on your device as described in section 5.1 (preferences, secure tokens, and a temporary cache). If you consent to analytics, the Firebase software in the App also stores its installation identifier on your device.

The App uses only the device permissions it needs to work: internet access and network status (to load trending data and play videos) and vibration (for optional haptic feedback). It does not request location, contacts, storage, camera, or microphone permissions.

8. How We Use Information

9. Legal Bases (EEA, UK, and Similar Laws)

Where these laws apply, we process information because it is necessary to provide the App you asked for (preferences, tokens, and trending data requests), on the basis of your consent (crash reports and usage events), for our legitimate interest in keeping the service secure and preventing abuse, and to meet legal obligations. You can withdraw consent at any time without affecting earlier processing.

10. Sharing of Information

Who What and why
YouTube / Google Requests needed to serve API data and the embedded YouTube player, under Google's Privacy Policy.
Our hosting provider Processes the API requests needed to return trending lists, on our behalf.
Google Firebase Crash reports and the product events in section 5.3, only after you agree.
Authorities Only if required by law, or to protect the rights and safety of users or the public.

If TrendUniverse is ever sold or merged, information may transfer to the new owner, who must continue to protect it as this policy describes.

11. Third-Party Content and Advertising

TrendUniverse does not show third-party ads and does not allow ad networks to serve content through the App. The videos, thumbnails, and channel information you see come from YouTube. Videos played in the official YouTube player may include ads or content served by YouTube; we do not control, select, or receive data from those ads.

12. Data Retention

13. Your Choices and Controls

These steps do not change data held by YouTube or Google about your use of YouTube. That data is managed under Google's Privacy Policy.

14. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, including under the GDPR (EEA/UK), the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA), and India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict your personal data, to withdraw consent, to object to processing, and to complain to a data protection authority. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising. To use any of these rights, email [email protected]. We will reply within 30 days.

15. Data Security

We use HTTPS for all network traffic, secure device storage for tokens, and access controls on our servers. No method of storage or transfer is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information and will act promptly if a problem occurs.

16. International Transfers

Our servers, Google, and Firebase may process information in countries other than yours, including the United States. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Google's standard contractual clauses.

17. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed to children under 13. You must be at least 13 (or the minimum digital-consent age in your country) to use the App. The App is not part of Google Play's Designed for Families program. If a video is designated Made for Kids by YouTube, we do not attach any extra analytics to that playback, and YouTube's player applies its own rules. If you believe a child has sent us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

18. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will change the "Last updated" date above and, for important changes, show a notice in the App. Continuing to use the App after an update means you accept the new policy.
